Lesson 1 - Questions from 'The Importance of the Truth About His Identity'

1) Suppose Jesus Christ were not God. If He knew He was not God and that none of those claims were true, what could we conclude about Him?
If Jesus knew that his claim to be God was false, he made a deliberate misrepresentation and He was a liar.

2) Suppose Jesus were sincerely wrong. Suppose He sincerely believed all these fantastic claims, even though they were not true. What could we conclude about Him?
If Jesus did not know his claims were false, he was sincerely deluded and He was a lunatic.

3) Why is it important to investigate His claims?

I personally find it important to investigate His claims because since I can remember I've felt some sense that there is a God but wanted to know what that meant (like a fuzzy picture needing focus - like a thirst to be quenched). Jesus talks about God. I need to know what He says about God and test whether what he says holds up under questioning - find evidence of it being true.
